Wakeman Golf Cart Laws

Hello Golf Cart Owners,

As you all know the Village of Wakeman Council had passed an ordinance that will allow golf carts on the roadway as long as they pass an inspection and are properly registered (please see links below).

You will be legally permitted to drive the golf carts on 25 mph streets and across state routes.

Many residents have expressed concern and have asked about this sudden enforcement. Well for one, over the last few years we have started to see a serious increase in golf cart usage throughout Wakeman.

Ten years ago there were one or two, now there are at least twenty or more.

This increase in golf cart usage has showed us that we may want to try and monitor this activity to possibly prevent future problems.

I know this transition will be difficult at first especially financially, but we are trying to make this as painless as possible. Unfortunately most of the golf carts prior to this ordinance do not have all of the required equipment as listed in the Ohio Revised Code. Some of you may have to update your golf cart to meet the required standards.
